For the last two decades, Cristiano Ronaldo has been a name that has lit up the football world and reached unprecedented heights. Since his breakthrough campaign at the 2004 Euros, Ronaldo has continued to be among the most consistent performers in world football, even two decades later.
While this generation of football has been defined by the Cristina Ronaldo vs. Lionel Messi debate, there is no debate that Ronaldo is among the greatest footballers to ever grace the game. Talent wise, Ronaldo stands out as a rare commodity, and his longevity, which has seen him dominate the football world for 20 years, makes him a rare phenomenon.
Over the course of his career, Ronaldo has won five Ballon d’Or titles, which is the second-most in history, with only Messi (8) winning the title more times.
It will not be an exaggeration to say that Ronaldo has aged like fine wine and only gets better with age. While the Al Nassr star is showing no signs of quitting the sport, the day is not far away as the Portugese legend is 39.
Ronaldo’s girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez, dropped a major hint on when the Portuguese star will retire from the sport and claimed he will quit the sport within a year or two. Rodriguez’s words hint at him quitting the sport, possibly after the 2026 World Cup.

“Cristiano one more year, then it’s over. Maybe two, I don’t know,” said Rodrigues in a video captured at Paris Fashion Week, where she paid a stunning tribute to the football legend.
Ronaldo is currently playing for Al Nassr in the Saudi League after joining the Asian giants in January 2023. Ronaldo is set to lead Portugal’s charge in 2024 Euros with as he aims to lift the elusive trophy for the second time in his career.
