Must read

According to a statement from the PSP, this is considered a “high-risk” event, with a capacity of around 48,000 people expected.

The official opening time of the stadium’s doors to the public is scheduled for 6:30 pm, but the PSP will begin its work in the morning, focusing on monitoring parking and vehicle traffic.

There will be temporary restrictions on traffic, particularly during the movement of teams and organised groups of supporters, especially those considered at risk, and the PSP intends for visiting supporters to gather at the Armed Forces Disabled Association, on Avenida Padre Cruz, at 6:00 pm.

Traffic restrictions:

Rua Professor Fernando da Fonseca (between Gate 1 of the EJA and the Visconde de Alvalade Roundabout) – 6:00 pm/8:30 pm

The Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the PSP will deploy, for this event, a police force “deemed appropriate to the circumstances, which includes several PSP services”.

The PSP also reminds that, according to current legislation, the following are crimes:

• Distributing and selling false or irregular ticket tickets;

• Damaging public transport, facilities or equipment used by the public;

• Participating in a fight when travelling to or from a sporting event;

• Unauthorised entry of any person into the competition area (pitch);

The PSP advises:

• Travel to the José Alvalade Stadium by public transport, avoiding bringing vehicles to the vicinity of the stadium;

• Travel in advance, allowing enough time to carry out the necessary security procedures;

• If using your own vehicle, park in supervised parking lots designated for this purpose; and

• Avoid carrying bags and backpacks into the sports venue.

The PSP urges fans and supporters who go to the Stadium to “adopt behaviour and attitudes appropriate to a sporting environment, respecting all participants, avoiding encouraging violence, promoting and participating in conflicts and/or situations that disrupt public order, in which the PSP will not hesitate to intervene to restore security conditions and ensure the normal running of the sporting event”.
