Business workers earned an average of €1,294 in 2021. The energy and water sectors, as well as financial and insurance activities, were the highest paid, but not the ones that generated the most wealth for the country, it was revealed on Monday, International Workers’ Day. Bordata .
These are “representatives of the legislative and executive authorities (plus €1,483)”, “intellectual and scientific professions (plus €701)” and “mid-level technicians (plus €314) – among which there is one exception: the mid-level technicians and health professionals” – who have salaries above the national average (€1,294).
Within these three groups, the highest paid jobs are administrative or executive positions, ranging from representatives of legislative and executive bodies, senior executives in public administration, company directors and managers. They receive an average salary of 3,577 euros.
This is followed by managers of administrative and commercial services (€3,091), managers of production and specialized services (€2,826), as well as technicians of legal, social, sports and cultural services (€2,331).
“STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) professions are also among the best paid, with salaries exceeding €1,850,” confirms Mr. Bordata. Information and communication technology (ICT) professionals earn an average of €2,198, while finance, accounting, administrative management, public relations and sales professionals earn €2,111. The salary for professionals in physical sciences, mathematics and engineering is €1,869 in 2019 and for health professionals €1,869.
