Manufacturing jobs are also among those with the most digital ads, while transportation and warehousing jobs have some of the lowest rates of online ads.
“In 2023, professions in sales, marketing and development management recorded the highest rates of online job advertisements in the European Union, standing at 26.6%,” said Eurostat.
This is the first time that this indicator has been published, which shows the professions where there is greater online demand from companies and where “recruiters may face potential challenges” when hiring staff, highlights the statistics office.
After jobs in sales, marketing and development management, it is the industry professions that see the highest rates of online job postings (22.4%), followed by other sales workers (17.6%).
Closing the top five are retail and wholesale managers (16.8%) and workers in administrative functions (16.7%).
On the other side of the table, jobs in transportation and storage appear, with an online advertisement rate of less than 13%.
Eurostat points out that public sector occupations (such as healthcare professions and teachers) are also not among those with the most online job adverts, but the statistics office emphasizes that this does not mean there are no recruitment difficulties. Previously, the low rate of online job advertisements can be explained by the preference for other ways of publicising job opportunities.
