The Eastern Conference matchup between the Miami Heat and Detroit Pistons marked a historic moment in the 78 year history of the NBA as Heat’s Duncan Robinson became the fastest player in the history of the league to score 1000 three pointers.
The Miami Heat currently eight in the Eastern Conference standings and chasing a playoffs spot expectedly started the contest against lowly Detroit Pistons on the front foot. Heading into the game, Robinson was just one three point away from history and he wasted no time to set a new NBA record.
The moment came as soon as the match started as in just the second minute of the contest, Robinson found himself in a sweet spot and knocked down a contested shot beyond the arc to become the fastest player to reach a 1000 three pointers. Watch here –
Post creating history, Duncan went off in the first half at Little Caesars Arena as Miami went in with a ten point 60 – 50 lead. In what was a fiery performance Robinson had 21 points in the first half, making 7 out of 9 field goals and knocking down an insane 5 out of 7 three pointers.
Duncan could have achieved the record further when he missed three shots late on against Denver on Friday. But guess it is never to late for the record is it.
